About Maddie

If it weren’t obvious enough, my name is Maddie and I make handmade reusable shopping bags! By day I serve as a member of the United States Military and by night I explore my hobby of sewing. As a girl from Oregon, I am big on recycling and limiting waste. Being stationed in California where you have to pay for thick plastic bags at the store, it seemed counter-intuitive as most people don’t bring them back, resulting in more plastic waste. So I busted out my awesome old school sewing machine given to me by my grandmother as a child and started sewing away. After trial and error, I finally figured out a pattern that was durable and sized perfectly. I put them to the test by giving them to my friend (he is the chef on my boat and has to buy out the store to feed all eleven of us) to load up and test their strength and even style at the checkout line. Turns out they passed with flying colors! With so many compliments on the bags, he suggested that I start sharing them with everyone else. So here I am, sitting at this keyboard, blabbing about my story and sharing my shopping bags with you. I hope you love them just as much as my friend and I do!

“Make Every Detail Perfect”

The start up can be rough and challenging but it’s the work and vision that can inspire others to chase their talents. Fabrics are carefully hand picked and precisely matched to create beautiful pairings. The burned leather label creates a feeling of a timeless piece and the logo a sense of elegance. The love and thought that goes into each bag continues to show down to the smallest detail.

A little reminder of home, the tags are made from Oregon nautical charts. All bags are packaged with great presentation and attention to detail. Each package is like opening a present.
